Professional Career
Ian joined the EDN team in 2002 after running his own successful consulting business and working at a senior level in human resources at Mitsubishi Motors. More than 20 years' working in the management and educational fields for a large multinational manufacturer has proved invaluable in Ian's role as an industry consultant.
He worked his way up from the production line to senior HR management positions at Mitsubishi and his style is very much "hands-on". In addition to being a skilled facilitator, particularly in automotive manufacturing and dealership networks, he has worked on a number of boards and steering groups within the training and learning areas. He has also been involved extensively in developing industry competency standards, assessment tools and program design.
Since joining EDN, Ian has worked in the field on numerous offshore and onshore oil and gas rigs and mines in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Australia. Ian is accredited to deliver Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Situational Leadership II, and is a registered certificate IV WPTA assessor. He has various other train-the-trainer certificates.
